Pressure regulator valve functions as a safety device. The Pressure regulators valve maintains established system pressure in the discharge line and at the pump head. When the spray gun is closed, the PRV redirects the flow of water back to the inlet side of the pump or to a tank.A positive displacement pump always delivers water continuously, whether the spray gun is open or closed. The pressure regulator also keeps the system at constant pressure in applications where the demand changes or when a trigger gun is released, solenoid (gate) valve is closed or nozzle is clogged, thus by-passing all excess flow. The Pressure can be adjusted from 0 bar to the maximum capacity of the system.
Operators are advised to prevent overheating of the Pressure Relief valves. Pumps should not be allowed to operate in bypass mode for more than 2 to 3 minutes. Squeezing the spray guns trigger always interrupts cycling and introduces cool water to the system.
